He studied composition and piano at the University of Indiana and conducting at Rice University. He is on the faculty at Carnegie Mellon University and founder and conductor of the Point Chamber Orchestra. His children’s opera, featured on this recording, was first performed by the Opera Theater of Pittsburgh.
